Who we are

Enhance CV (EnhanceCV) operates https://enhancecv.net. Controller contact: [email protected]. We provide a free resume builder, ATS checker, cover-letter generator, and writing tools.

What we collect

When you use a generator or the ATS checker we receive the text you paste or extract from a PDF/DOCX, your IP address for rate limiting, and standard server logs. We do not create user accounts in the current product. Drafts stored with localStorage stay on your device.

If you email us, we keep the message long enough to answer it.

AI processing

Resume and letter text is sent to OpenAI to generate scores or drafts. We instruct the model not to invent employers or metrics. OpenAI processes that text as our processor under their API terms. We do not use your resume to train a public marketing corpus. Uploads are parsed in memory and are not kept as files on our servers after the request finishes.

Cookies and similar tech

We use a language cookie (NEXT_LOCALE) so the site stays in the language you chose, and a consent cookie (enhancecv.cookies) for advertising preferences. Analytics or advertising cookies, if enabled after consent, are described in the Cookie policy.

Google AdSense and advertising

This site may show ads served by Google AdSense or similar partners. Google and vendors use cookies to serve ads based on visits to this site and other sites. You can opt out of personalised advertising at https://www.google.com/settings/ads and via the Network Advertising Initiative at https://www.networkadvertising.org/managing/opt_out.asp.

Third-party vendors, including Google, may show ads on Enhance CV. We do not load non-essential advertising cookies until you accept them in the cookie banner (EEA/UK). Essential operation of the site does not require ad cookies.

Google’s use of advertising cookies is covered by Google’s advertising policies. We disclose this because Google AdSense requires a privacy policy that explains cookie use for ads.

Legal bases (GDPR / UK GDPR)

Contract / steps prior to a contract: running the tool you asked for. Legitimate interests: security, rate limits, answering email. Consent: non-essential cookies and personalised ads. You may withdraw consent via the cookie banner without affecting prior lawful processing.

Retention

Server logs are kept for a short security window. Emails are kept as long as the conversation requires. Browser drafts remain until you clear site data. We do not sell personal information.

Your rights

EEA/UK: access, rectification, erasure, restriction, portability, objection, and complaint to a supervisory authority. California: we do not sell or share personal information as those terms are used in the CPRA for a paid data-broker model. Contact [email protected].

Children

The service is aimed at people seeking work, not at children under 16. Do not submit a minor’s resume.

International transfers

OpenAI and hosting providers may process data in the United States or other countries. Standard contractual clauses or equivalent safeguards apply where required.
